One of the largest electric two-wheeler makers Ola Electric was in headlines for Ola electric car. The company is preparing to make a debut in electric car segment. As per the latest announcement by Ola Chief Financial Officer GR Arun Kumar the company will launch the electric car in the second half of 2024.

Arun Kumar stated that the company is working on the advanced design of Ola electric car. The prior experience of the company in the field of electric two-wheelers will help in developing a best four-wheeler. Arun Kumar further said that we have rich experience in software, safety systems, electronics, sales and drivetrain. 30-40 percent of our work has become easier on Ola electric car.

As per the company’s founder Bhavish Aggarwal company will start production of lithium ion cells in the country itself. For this, the company has built a gigafactory in Tamil Nadu, where the company will start manufacturing lithium-ion batteries from this year. It is expected that with the commencement of production of lithium batteries, import duty can be saved, which will reduce the cost of electric vehicles in the country.  Ola Electric aims to launch its first car for less than $50,000 i.e 40 Lacs INR.

Let us tell you that in the Union Budget also, emphasis has been laid on making electric vehicles cheaper. Along with this, the government is also promoting clean fuel and green mobility.

It is very interesting to know that in this segment Ola electric car will compete with companies like Tata, Hyundai and Tesla.  Ola Electric released a teaser of the electric car last year. In this, some hints were given about the exterior and interior of this electric car. It gets a unique and modern design steering wheel, sleek LED headlamps, sloppy windshield and sporty alloy wheels. It gets cameras instead of rear-view mirrors, which will help in aerodynamics. There is a large infotainment screen in the middle which could be over 12 inches. The layout of the dashboard looks good and it also gets ambient lighting.

The exterior gets air intakes on both sides of the front bumper for the front brakes. It gets an LED strip along the bonnet running the full width of the front, while the LED DRL units have been reduced to just two strips on each side. Its back side is almost similar to the front. It gets bigger surfaces for the bumper and rear fenders which houses the LED strip tail light. The company says that this electric car will be able to give a range of more than 500 kilometers in full charge. The company claims that it will accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4 seconds.
